10k Pink Gold Bohemian Garnet Ring
Bohemian garnets are well known to vintage and antique jewelry collectors, but few people are aware of these beautiful pieces of jewelry history. Bohemian garnets are a member of the pyrope species of garnet and are prized for their vibrant red hue and an inner glow that comes from their highly refractive nature with light.
“Bohemian” derives from the region of Bohemia, a kingdom which later became Czechoslovakia and, among other flourishing trades, this region produced gorgeous, deep red garnet gemstones and a style of jewelry that quickly became popular in the late Victorian Era and through the turn of the century.
This special Bohemian garnet flower ring features 10 rose-cut garnets of which the center measures 3mm, and the other nine measure about 2mm.
