Stunning Cross Albertina with Embellished Chain

Sale price Price $2,550.00 Regular price

An Albertina chain is the name given to a watch chain worn by women. These chains were popular during the Victorian era, along with Albert chains, which were worn by men. The Albertina chains were generally finer than the Albert chains and often were multi-stranded, with charms and fobs.

This perfect pair exemplifies the English take on the fantasy of the 1860s. Here shown, fully etched, the cross attaches to the chain with a split ring and has an open bottom that perhaps once housed a watch key. The Albertina is closed with two c-clasps, attached to another split ring. A truly remarkable find belonging in your collection.
