The Victorian Era was a high point for jewelry, not just for the quality of the pieces but also for the way the Victorians used them as meaningful symbols. 

The obsession with botany even in popular culture during the Victorian period translated into jewelry by way of floral motifs. All sorts of flowers were used designing brooches, lockets, rings, and earrings to convey different sentiments. 

Forget-me-nots and pansies, for instance, were constant reminders of loved ones to one another. The Victorian language of flowers added an extra symbolic strand to the forget-me-not’s message of remembrance: that of true love. Because the Victorians adored both sentimental and symbolic jewelry, and because the five-petalled forget-me-not was relatively simple to depict, it became a common motif. The petals were typically rendered in turquoise or blue enamel, as we can see in this stunning example.

This ring is bold, playful, and timeless. It screams both "I love you" and "wear me in any look." Additionally, turquoise is believed to have the power to protect, as well as its symbolism of tranquil energy and enduring love.
