Outstanding Signet Ring in 18k

Sale price Price $1,995.00 Regular price

Ever so slightly rosy and tonality, this gold signet ring features a card suit club, a horse, a stag, and a bird flying above the crest.

Signet rings were typically made entirely of gold, such as this special example. Especially during the 19th century, people could mark a document with these rings. Wax was melted onto documents and the top of the ring was impressed into the wax, leaving a clear and permanent mark. To denote the ring’s wearer, signets were comprised of identifying marks, such as coats of arms, monograms, family seals, or initials. Perhaps this meant something to the previous wearer, or it may mean something to you today!
