Outstanding French 18k Tableau Brooch

Sale price Price $1,950.00 Regular price

Spray brooches and mourning brooches triumphed during the Victorian era. Delicate, feminine, and captivating, spray brooches are a beautiful addition to any jewelry collection. Traditionally consisting of intricate floral designs and often mounted in the En Tremblant style, spray brooches most frequently consist of a range of small diamonds or colored gemstones, which are crafted to catch the light and create a sublime sparkle.

Mother of pearl is the inner layer of oyster and mussel shells. Each shell is unique in color and texture with a shiny and iridescent finish, making it an ideal decorative material in jewelry and beyond.

Featuring a Dutch-style still life, four large, lush roses of varying color-ways define the center of the bouquet, while spray roses and daffodils form the explosive composition. I like to imagine that this brooch was perhaps a sentimental gift, a bouquet meant to withstand the test of time.
