Gorgeous Emerald and Opal Band with Fairytale Gallery in Pink 18k
Stylistically, jewelry of the Aesthetic Period of the Victorian era did not resemble its earlier Victorian counterparts, in fact, it was in complete opposition to what preceded it. Gone were the mourning jewelry, heavy brooches, and large necklaces. Jewelry was smaller, lighter, and more dainty.
Diamonds came into fashion, and semiprecious gems such as emeralds and opals became prevalent, too. Using gemstones for their natural beauty and not their worth was something that jewelers of the Aesthetics movement felt passionate about, and this ideology has become relevant in following eras and today!
This early 20th century emerald and opal ring is exemplary of the major themes of the Aesthetic Period. The emerald is May's birthstone, and the bright green precious stone has a history of meaning rebirth and love. Opals, on the other hand, are said to boost creativity and symbolize fidelity. This ring makes for a beautiful stacker, adds a sparkle to any look, and is an overall great addition to any collection.
