Extremely Rare C. 1820 9k Onyx "Rosary" Necklace

Sale price Price $3,200.00 Regular price

Finding necklaces in mint condition from the 19th century is becoming harder and harder; rare pieces from the Austinian period are nearly impossible, in fact, I’ve never had a maltese necklace before.

With 30 elements total, and 33 individually cut, hand beveled and then bezeled onyx stones, this very fine necklace would have been worn to church on Sundays and for any and all religious moments in a young woman’s life. With a 14” wearing length, and a total length of 21”, I imagine this necklace would have been the perfect candidate for a movie or film usage as it is all original to the period.
