An outrageous Victorian Arts + Crafts swan brooch in near mint condition. This all original example is in near mint condition featuring four colors, with a remarkable attention to detail, particularly in the texturing used to create the ground and environment within the diorama-esque central scene; line texturing creates a dizying horizon, as silver waves threaten to carry our subject, the golden swan, far far away. I’m smitten with the historicity of this jewel.
